Thomas Friedman has been with TSA since 2003. He currently serves as the Industry Engagement Manager for Surface Air Cargo, in the Office of Security Policy and Industry Engagement. His responsibilities include the providing national policy engagement with senior level trusted operators and key associations to develop strategic industry partnerships. These partnerships will foster relationships through frank two-way information sharing that will result in a shared understanding of risk, vulnerability gap analysis and develop appropriate, creative security solutions that result in measurable risk reduction with the least impact on business. Mr Friedman serves as the principal advisor to the Assistant Administrator for the Office of Security Policy and Industry Engagement (OSPIE) for Air Cargo  modal security issues and provide national aviation and surface transportation security expertise and interface to the TSA, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Transportation, White House and Congress. Prior to joining the TSA team, Mr. Friedman was employed by an International Cargo Airline. During his 19 year tenure, he served as Air Cargo operations as wells as Cargo Sales. He has worked directly with Freight Forwarders, Agents, Shippers as well as Road Feeder organizations throughout his career.
