White, Michael R.

Mr. White is the Assistant Director of Cargo Facilitation, Security and Standards for Cargo Network Services (CNS) and Regional Manager of Cargo for the International Air Transport Association (IATA). 

Based in Miami, Florida, Mr. White is helping lead the air cargo industry’s efforts in Secure Freight, e-freight, data quality and timeliness and government issues related to air cargo in the Americas.  He is called on upon frequently by industry and government officials for official viewpoints and to speak on behalf of CNS and IATA.

His experience includes COO of SkyLink USA, President of Trade Network Consultants, Head of Cargo at the Air Transport Association of America, Regional VP of Cargo Service Center, Manager of Cargo Services and Product DevelopmentWorldwide for United Airlines.  On Sept. 11, 2001 his operational and government experience was called upon by industry and government toward meeting the security challenges.

Mr. White was also a senior representative for the trade during the development of the U.S. known shipper program, the indirect air carrier program, the Customs Trade Partnership program and the Container Security Initiative to help secure the supply chain after the events of TWA 800 and Sept. 11, 2001.  He served as an advisor to the U.S. government and the International Civil Aviation Organization on customs, security and other air cargo related issues. 

Mr. White was selected in 2011 by US Customs and Border Protection as a Trade Ambassador and also serves on several committees of their Trade Support Network.  He also is the air cargo Chair of the Customs Electronic Senior Advisory Committee.
