Klestadt, Alan

 

Alan R. Klestadt is a partner in the law firm of Grunfeld, Desiderio, Lebowitz, Silverman & Klestadt LLP. The firm, with offices in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Hong Kong, has more than 40 lawyers on staff, all devoted exclusively to the practice of customs and international trade law.

 

While attending law school, Mr. Klestadt successfully sat for his Customs Broker's license and received his license in 1981. Mr. Klestadt graduated from law school in 1983 and was elected to the partnership of his firm in 1989.

 

Mr. Klestadt currently serves as NCBFAA Customs Counsel. As NCBFAA Counsel, Mr. Klestadt provides guidance on regulatory and legislative proposals that impact the customs brokerage industry. He works closely with the executive officers of the Association and advises brokerage clients on a wide variety of compliance issues.

 

He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Customs and International Trade Bar Association.
