Sider, Candace

 

Candace Sider was appointed vice president, regulatory affairs, Canada in 2014 and North America in 2017. She is responsible for developing and implementing Livingston’s government affairs strategy. Candace joined Livingston International through the acquisition PBB Global Logistics in 2006. Serving as the director of regulatory affairs, Canada since 2008, she has had a profound influence in our industry through her advocacy and promotion of trade.

 

As Livingston’s primary representative focused on regulatory changes that impact global trade, compliance and risk management, Candace manages political engagement with federal, state and provincial officials, regulatory agencies and key policymakers. In her role she will continue to help shape the policies and procedures governing trade in the context of a dynamic and evolving marketplace and help Livingston develop business solutions that will meet the future needs of the international trade community.

 

Candace has achieved certification as a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and a Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) and obtained her professional qualification with Canada Border Services Agency in 1986. She is also a registered lobbyist with the Government of Canada. Representing Livingston and trade, she sits on the Border Customs Consultative Committee (BCCC), was the industry co-chair for CARM-ARL and participates on a number of the BCCC sub-committees. She is also the past chair and a current board member of the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers and managing director of the International Federation of Customs Brokers.  In 2018 Candace was appointed to the Executive board of CanAm Border Trade Alliance.

 

A well-respected expert on risk management and compliance, Candace is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and seminars, and has authored various articles and technical papers about trade facilitation and cross-border strategies. She is a regular author of Livingston’s Trade News and white papers and currently hosts a weekly blog about regulatory issues which impact trade and compliance from a global perspective. Candace represents Livingston with the media on government and regulatory issues.
