E-Commerce: Opportunity or Threat?
 

Precis: E-commerce continues to grow and is still a challenge. How will CBP deal with the facilitation of legitimate trade while maintaining enforcement priority enforcement of safety and security? Trade issues such as IPR and trade remedies? How can all members of the logistics chain participate in the movement and clearance of smaller shipments? CBP has working groups looking at the challenges in developing its policies and programs. The panel will talk about the progress on this important subject.

If you do, then you should participate in one of the eight ACE Portal Training Sessions we have scheduled during the NCBFAA Annual Conference. Running from 1:30-5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, and Wednesday, April 17, these 30-minute first-come, first-served sessions are only being offered to fully registered attendees. This is your chance to ask CBP Portal experts for help in addressing any of your challenges with the Portal. Registrations are limited to on-site only; no pre-arrival registrations will be taken, and participant must provide their own devices.

Efforts are being made to develop more uniform and streamline Customs processing for both import and export shipping. U.S. Export Controls: BIG Changes on the Horizon

 

Precis: There are changes on the horizon impacting U.S. Exports. This panel will address forthcoming regulatory changes including the impact of CBP’s automated manifest, as well as the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and Census Routed Export Transaction notices of proposed rulemakings (NPRMs). We will also discuss challenges that freight forwarders face complying to U.S. Export Controls, especially with regard to eCommerce transactions.
