Fosberry, Pat

 

Pat started his career with John S. James Co. in 1983 in the export department.  Currently the Director of Export Compliance, his responsibilities include oversight of regulatory issues and compliance for all exports; import, export, air and domestic transportation; hazardous material training and compliance; and agency partnerships.  Through Pat’s efforts, in 2016 the John S. James Co. was awarded the President’s E Award for excellence in providing export services.

 

He served on the Board of Directors of Global Logistics Associates, the JSJ worldwide agency partner network and was President of their NVOCC GlobeTrans, Inc.  He served as the President of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of Charleston, S.C., Inc. from 2011-2014, served on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Port and Seafarers Society from 2011-2015, and in 2012 was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the South Carolina District Export Council where he currently serves as Vice-Chair.  He is a member of the South Carolina International Trade Coalition.  In 2015, Pat was named Leader of the Year by the Charleston chapter of the National Transportation Week organization.  In 2018, Pat serves as Vice-Chair of the Maritime Association of South Carolina.

 

For 15 years, he has taught “The Export Move” and “Letters of Credit” classes at the Intermodal Program at the College of Charleston, and has previously teaches industry-related classes for the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, Trident Technical College and The Citadel.  In 2016, Pat began teaching at the Export Training Program for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.  Pat also provides industry training on Hazardous Material Training, focused on function specific training of Custom Brokers and Ocean Transportation Intermediaries.
