Schmidt, Stuart

 

As a Manager, Trade Services for UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Inc., (UPS) Stuart is a member of the UPS Corporate Compliance team that ensures UPS compliance procedures align with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Partner Government Agency regulations. His compliance area of responsibility is primarily the Eastern United States.  In addition to providing consulting services to UPS customers he serves as an internal subject matter expert for Trade Agreements, Foreign Trade Zones, Anti-dumping/Countervailing Duty and numerous Partner Government Agency programs.

 

Stuart has been a Licensed Customs Broker since 1996, a member of the Trade Support Network (TSN) since 2002 and became an ACE Trade Ambassador in 2004.  An early champion of CBP’s latest commercial trade processing system, the Automated Commercial Environment, he is currently Co-chair of the International Trade Data System (ITDS) committee and a member of the TSN Customs and Entry committees. Stuart joined the ITDS Board of Directors in January 2015 representing Trade.  In 2017 Stuart joined the Customs Committee of the National Customs Broker and Freight Forwarders Association and also serves on the Regulatory Affairs Committee.     


Stuart obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Malone University in 2012 and was certified by CBP to participate in the Broker ISA program in 2013.  In August 2018, Stuart became a NCBFAA Certified Export Specialist.
