Sekin, Darrell

Over the past 50 years, Darrell J. Sekin Jr. has earned a reputation as a small business pioneer and one of America’s most respected customs brokers. He began his industry career in the mid-1960s at the customs brokerage firm his father had founded, and then in 1985 Darrell launched his own Dallas/Fort Worth-based firm. Under his guidance, DJS International Services has grown into one the southwest’s leading international freight forwarding, customs brokerage and NVOCC firms.  He has over 50 years of success in the customs brokerage and freight forwarding industry. Darrell is a licensed Customshouse Broker, and also holds the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation.  He has been an active member of the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) for many years, serving as president of the national organization from 2012-2014 and as chairman of the board from 2014 until 2018 and is currently a senior counselor to the organization.  He also served as a U.S. director of The International Federation of Customs Brokers Association.   Through his notable involvement, Darrell has been at the forefront of many changes in the industry and is highly regarded as a trusted advocate for the customs brokerage and importing communities.

 

Darrell earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from LeTourneau University.
