CBP Head to Keynote NCBFAA Monday Morning Conference Sessions

Washington, DC: The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc. (NCBFAA) is pleased to announce that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Acting Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer (COO) David V. Aguilar will be the Keynote Speaker on Monday, April 12, at the 36th NCBFAA Annual Conference being held April 11-14, at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country, San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Aguilar joins a long line of high-ranking CBP officials who have served as keynoters for this annual event, including former Commissioners W. Ralph Basham and Robert Bonner and his predecessor, Acting Commissioner Jayson Ahern.
        A 31-year veteran of Customs, Mr. Aguilar brings substantial border enforcement experience to his new position and is well attuned to the challenges confronting NCBFAA members in their daily interaction with CBP. As COO, Mr. Aguilar oversees the daily operations of CBP’s 57,000-employee workforce and manages an operating budget of more than $11 billion. His primary focus is to ensure that CBP’s mission of protecting the Nation’s borders from terrorists and terrorist weapons is carried out effectively in partnership and unison with our country’s other federal, state, local and foreign partners. Carrying out CBP’s other border-related responsibilities of keeping out illegal drugs and illegal aliens, securing and facilitating legitimate global trade and travel, and protecting our food supply and agriculture industry from pests and disease are also critical priorities.
