NCBFAA Files Comments on ISF

Washington, DC: In a letter to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) today, the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc. (NCBFAA) filed comments on the Interim Final Rule for the Importer Security Filing. Among the issues addressed by the NCBFAA was the:

• Difficulty in obtaining timely bill of lading information; and,
• Need for continued flexibility in interpreting some of the data elements.

        The NCBFAA has also suggested that future ISF Progress Reports include transactional details, which would allow ISF Filers to address specific issues with the appropriate ISF Importers.
