For Immediate Release

Washington, DC: The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc. (NCBFAA) has announced the availability of online conferencing and webinar service to its members and the public at large. This NCBFAA-sponsored tool will allow member firms and member organizations to plan their own conference calls seamlessly and inexpensively with the assistance of an NCBFAA staff member.

“This service has been in place for nearly a year now,” said NCBFAA Executive Vice President barbara reilly. “And now we would like to share it with our members and others so that they too can have access to a very powerful, yet inexpensive communications tool.”
This Internet-enabled conferencing platform has a telephone and a web component. These two distinct elements work together to provide different conferencing options:

  • “Meeting” - This conference call is for meetings of up to 25 participants, who need to listen and talk to each other. The web component allows all participants to view each other’s computer screens (one at a time) to discuss documents, forms and any other uploadable information. This option is perfect for traditional meetings and conference calls.
  •  “Webinar” - This option works best for presentations that include up to 25 presenters and organizers, interacting with each other on the call. The presentations can be shared with up to 1000 other attendees, who can hear the call but cannot talk to others on the call. The web component allows all participants to view a presenter’s computer screen on their desktops and to see and discuss presentations, forms and any other uploadable information. Using the chat or text-messaging feature, all participants may ask each other or the presenter an unlimited number of questions, which can be addressed on the call, through the chat feature or later after the session. This option is ideal for seminar-style meetings and training.
