NCBFAA Markets Revised Compliance Manual

Washington, DC: The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc. (NCBFAA) is marketing a newly revised book, "Analysis of Customs Regulations for Customs Brokers," prepared by Robert B. Silverman. Mr. Silverman is a partner at Grunfeld, Desiderio, Lebowitz, Silverman and Klestadt LLP and Customs Counsel to the New York New Jersey Foreign Freight Forwarders and Brokers Association.
        The NCBFAA is making this publication available to help customs brokers fully comply with the standards imposed under various statutes, regulations and rulings that govern broker conduct. In addition, brokers can use the information in it to create programs to meet their obligation to exercise responsible supervision and control over their Customs business as well as meet their Customs' prescribed obligations to the Customs Service and to their clients.
        Sections covered in the book include:

• Licensing for customs brokers.
• Requirements to set up a customs brokerage office.
• Notification of changes to be filed with the Customs Service.
• Responsibilities of a customs broker.
• Broker rights and liabilities.

        In addition, the manual includes a number of Customs source documents such as rulings, Customs informed compliance publications, and Customs broker audit materials.
